Question

Asked by: Pablo Martos
Subject: Readouts and getting measurements
Question: hello.. currently i am working on a project. I am currently trying to build a project that will show how the pitch and roll is used, by using actual mechanical gyroscopes. How can i integrate these mechanical gryoscopes with some kind of sensors/electronic device to get measurements out?

Kitchen scales, electronic ones! are a cheap way of getting a load cell and digital readout. The scales I modified,OK for measuring force up to 3000grams, the load cell is a strain gauge bridge mounted on a alli bar 12x12mm x 80 long the wires can be extended.
Be carefull that you choose a model of scales that you can get apart, look for a number of screws in the base(they maybe hidden behind lables and feet).
For measuring rotor speed use an optical sensor as a magnet will require the rotor to be reballanced. Checkout- rapidonline / photoreflective sensor order code58-0934.
