gyroscopes attaching to a bike |
Question: |
If I am building a bike that is pretty stripped down, can I make it stay up by using a gyroscope? I would like to know if a motor is hooked up to a steel rod and hook a pulley-system, can I put a wheel on the side of the bike that would act like a gyroscope? If so, would one tire on a side be enough to counterbalnce gravities force which would make the bike stand up by itself? I know that if I put the wheel horizontaly over the bike and hook up the motor to it and make it spin the bike will stay balanced. But that would make the welding job very difficult, so I wanted to know if teh physics would allow the wheel be attached next to the bike, making a gyroscope effect? |
