Subject: Detection of Earth Rotation
Question: Can we hope make the experience of galilean stability of the axis of the gyro (the model of "Gyroscopes Online") with the device Gyro + Gimbal Add-on kit during the 24 hours of one revolution of the Earth?

I intend replace the battery pack by a DC generator by exemple.

And how orientate axis of gyro at the beginning of the experience ?

Excuse my poor english langage and thanks for your answers !

 Theoretically it should work. However from the picture it doesn't look like there is enough space to mount the motor and also have the gyroscope turn around in the stock gimbals. You would also have to screw a weight onto the gyroscope to balance out the motor so the gyroscope doesn't want to precess. Then there is the problem of the wiring. If you can figure out all this then the next step would be to tilt the gimbals so that one gimbal axis points north but is raised up your latitude above the horizon. Hopefully that should do the trick.
