An A.C. motor uses a rotating magnetic field to spin up the gyro rotor. As the frequency increases so does the number of field rotations. This rotating field "pulls" on the rotor through inductive eddy currents. It uses the same basic principles as all A.C. induction motors.

As the rotor speed increases, so does the gyro rotor's angular momentum or precession force.
