types of gyro |
Question: |
some say gyro has 2 types: mechanical gyros and fiber-optic gyro.
then, some say 3: mechanical gyros, piezo gyros, & heading hold gyros.
others say 4:spinning, laser, rate gyro, & optical gyro.
how does the gyros being classify?by movement, material, or mission (for spacecraft, aircraft, or helicopter) |

| | There is mechanical, ring laser, fiber-optic, piezo, hemispherical resonator, wave inertia effect,
optical cavity gyroscope. You could quite easily make another type using a different method.
Another way of looking at it. There are 2 types, mechanical and sensor type gyroscopes.
