Can't make postings |
Question: |
I get
error '8004020f' /forum/general.inc, line 46
when I try to post an answer.
It would be useful for me and others here to know why.
Maybe part of the system is down for backups? (it is 1.42am on Saturday morning as I write this, immediately after repeated such failures). |

| This is a test to see if the problem is specific to a thread or not. The thread where I had been trying to post an answer was by dave on 11aug03 entitled 'building a machine'. If I succeed in this posting, that means the problem is specific to that thread.

| Glenn, don't know what happened, but I now see that, despite the error messages, all my answer attempts have suddenly showed up at once! Please delete all but one.

| Your right there was a problem. Firstly a number of people replied more than once. This seems to be because the page was cached across the internet (they got an old version of the page). I've added something that should stop this happening. Regarding the error, I think I know what it could could be. I won't bore you with the details but I should be able to fix it.
Many Thanks for the feedback.
