Question

Asked by: Andy Rylatt
Subject: Any information on powered gyroscope demonstration models?
Question: I'm trying to get hold of an electrically driven gyroscope model for use in class to demonstrate the principles of the gyroscope. I had a very old MITAC version, but can't find where to but a new one, or a similar one. It needs to be large enough to show a whole class and powered so that it runs indefinitely. If anyone has any information on suppliers, I'd really appreciate it.

There is a electrically driven gyroscope at www.gyroscope.com however its quite small compared to the Mitac gyroscope. I’ve been planning on building a limited number of gyroscopes like the one you described. They will be 12-20 inches high and have a large fast disk. They should be ready in 2004 but they will be over £500. If there is anything in particular you want it to do let me know and I’ll incorporate it into the design.
